The cheapest way to convert USDC to PLN in Poland
When people ask for the "cheapest" way to convert USDC to Polish złoty, they usually mean the headline trading fee. The number that actually decides how much PLN lands in the account is the total cost: the trading fee, the spread baked into the exchange rate, the withdrawal fee, and the time the funds sit exposed while everything settles.
Where the cost actually hides
Centralised exchanges often advertise a low trading fee and then widen the spread on the order book, so the rate is quietly worse than mid-market. A "0% fee" promotion can cost more than a visible fee once that spread is counted — which is rather the point: a fee you can see is a fee you can compare, and a spread is not.
For a stablecoin this is easier to check than for a volatile asset. USDC's mid-market value sits close to a known number, so the gap between that and the quoted rate is the spread, plainly.
Why settlement time is a cost
Every hour between starting a conversion and receiving fiat is an hour of exposure — modest for a stablecoin, real for anything else. Slow rails and manual review queues turn that delay into a charge nobody itemises.
Worth being precise, though: proof-based settlement removes the review queue, not the clock. The attestation takes time, the proof takes time, and settlement waits for an L1 confirmation. What disappears is the part where a human decides.
The escrow-first alternative
The seller locks USDC into smart-contract escrow up front, the buyer pays złoty by ordinary bank transfer, and a TLS Notary proof of that payment releases the crypto — no custodian, and no sign-off between proof and payout.
The cost is not a rate card. You bid a fee when you post the trade, a published reserve is the floor, and the winning bid is what you pay — so the number is set by an open market rather than announced by us, and it is public once the trade settles. Nothing is folded into the exchange rate. None of this has settled a real trade yet, so there is no observed range to quote either.
